Playing their first game in 10 days, the Hot Springs Trojans showed no signs of rust Friday night.

Behind 12 points each from sophomore Santiair Thomas and freshman J.J. Walker, the Trojans (13-9, 8-0) rolled to a 47-18 rout of defending 5A-South champion Hope.

In the midst of a four-game winning streak, Hot Springs hosts rivals Lakeside (4-13, 3-5) Tuesday night and Lake Hamilton (15-3, 5-1) Thursday night at Trojan Fieldhouse.

Leading 35-21 at the half, the Hot Springs Lady Trojans (16-3, 6-0) outscored Hope 24-9 in the second half to secure a 59-30 win on the road Friday night.

Senior guard Ariana Guinn led the way with 19 points for Hot Springs. Junior forwards Jaidan Thomas and Nya Moody scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, and senior Trinitee Nevels finished with eight points.

Winners of eight straight games, the Lady Trojans host Lakeside (15-3, 4-1) Tuesday and Lake Hamilton (8-10, 1-2) Thursday at Trojan Fieldhouse.

* The Hot Springs junior Lady Trojans got contributions from everyone in a 47-28 win over Camden Fairview Thursday night.

Jaylia Reed scored 19 points, with Jurnee Hicks adding eight points and India Hudson scoring seven points. Other scorers for the junior Lady Trojans were Ivy Scott with five points, Tamia Dolls with three points and Darnesa Hudson with two points.

Hot Springs led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter before taking control with a 19-8 advantage in the second quarter. Leading 32-15 at the half, the junior Lady Trojans held Fairview to just five points in the third quarter and eight in the fourth to secure the win.
