The Hot Springs Trojans are hard at work on the practice field getting ready for the start of the season that's now just weeks away.
The team missed the playoffs last season, going 3-7.
Head Coach Chris Vereen says they were their own worst enemy last season. There's high expectations for Hot Springs this season.
Vereen feels good about his starters and his senior class.
"These guys have been there all the way thru the seventh grade. One of the, actually the second group I've been there all the way thru with. Just watch these guys grow and mature and we've got some really good football players in this senior class coming up and they're definitely the leaders of the team," he says.
"Last year a few games we were in it, should've went to the playoffs but just a few things added up and it was just that way. Just can't have that happen again," adds Kenneth Byrd, running back.
"I think it's going to be big this year because I think we're hyped up this year because everybody's expecting us to do great things this year so I think we're going to have a lot of support from our community and people," says Anthony Walker, tackle.
